Retainer Service

Our HR retainer service is available to clients on invitation only. For a monthly subscription, we’re on call to you and your staff for ad-hoc HR support, at a predictable and consistent budget.

How does it work?

We agree a monthly fee and time budget for you and your staff to access our services when it suits you. If you don’t use your time allowance one month, it carries forward to the next. That way you can have some assurance about your annual HR spend, and have access to support whenever you need it. You can also have comfort your staff can get in touch when they need to, just as if you had your own in-house HR support.

  • Any of our remote generalist HR/ER services are covered. You’ll have access to recruitment services, reference checks, responding to/managing any personal grievances, employment agreements/position descriptions, policies, performance management and disciplinary support, salary reviews, documentation, contract variations, advice on people problems, and management coaching and support.

  • We agree a monthly fee with you which covers a defined number of hours of services per month. The monthly fee will be based on your staff numbers and anticipated needs. The fee will be reviewed from time to time but will always be lower than the equivalent of our standard hourly rate. We will monitor your useage of subscribed hours to make sure your arrangement stays suitable for your needs.

  • Time not utilised will be carried forward to the next month. Your time does not expire as long as it is used within 12 months. This means your HR budget stays balanced throughout the year although your needs may fluctuate depending on what’s going on with your business.

  • If you have used your month’s agreed hours, together with any banked hours, you’ll be charged our usual hourly rate for any services done in excess. We will do our best to let you know in advance if you have exceeded your subscribed hours.

  • No - you or we just need to give one month’s notice of cancellation.

  • We can’t always guarantee availability for meetings or in-person services, especially at short notice (but we’ll do our best). Travel costs are not included, neither are any disbursements. Attending mediation or the ERA is not included.
